Most of the local tech reviews so far took more attention on the stronger, quad-core one yet the Php 3999 asking price (those who got it for Php 1999 during a previous sale were lucky) so we took a chance to buy the more affordable Huawei WiFi WS5200 router
See our unboxing and first look here:
The supplied adapter is 12V 1A (for 12 watts) although we do not have measuring device if Huawei is hitting the maximum electric consumption.
Like in most budget routers, there are two color indicators in it's LED light - blinking red if there is something wrong and solid yellow-like color, a sign that the router is working in good condition
The WS5200 has Huawei's own Gigahome dual core 800 Mhz CPU which compared to the previous budget router (under Php 600) that I had, it has more oomph in terms of what we do heavily on streaming live videos and online video recording for some of the media events that we covered. What's good that it already has WiFi ac (for more modern devices) and it combines the 2.4 and 5 GHz band powers which brings more Fibr speeds for compatible devices like Huawei Nova 8 that we had as main driver.
