Tecno Pouvoir 4 Unboxing, Review
The biggest smartphone that we held so far for this year and it was our first dibs from an upcoming smartphone in the Philippines - Tecno
Meet the Tecno Pouvoir 4. You can check more on the device here
See our first look and unboxing of Tecno Pouvoir 4 here:
We were fortunate that we saw a bit of HiOS 6 and HiOS 7 based on Android 10 which from us, the latest was the best implementation in terms of fluidity given that this budget phablet only has 3 GB RAM and Mediatek Helio A22 processor. As it was on the same umbrella as Infinix, one of it's trademark apps can also be seen here like the effective Freezer app which you can "freeze" those apps that you are seldomly used and really does eat some RAM. We knew that it has dual nano SIM and dedicated micro SD slot. No surprise that this device cannot support those higher micro SDXC cards . One thing that we were a bit annoyed as aside from the standard, they also embedded their own Google search bar that you cannot remove and the not-that-useful game recommendations at the top of the app drawer.

On HiOS 7
On connectivity, for us it is not the big display but the main headliner for us - you can get dual band WiFi support (2.4 and 5 GHz support) for this price of Php 4,590. On calls, it was not that good as there are times that we experienced "muddy" conversations at times. The rest from texts, mobile data, OTG and Bluetooth were a-ok on this one.
On benchmarks, for some reasons on both HiOS 6 and 7 that we are not able to run both the regular and lite versions of Antutu (but we already have an idea on the usual numbers) On sensors, the phone has accelerometer, proximity, light and sound.
On battery with it's 6000 mAh Li-Po battery and 7 inch HD+ display, the device lasted in 34 hours and 38 minutes in our video battery rundown test. The processor might be weak at some times but definitely it was an endurance-centric SoC for us as we can easily have Pouvoir 4 as a 3-day smartphone in medium-heavy usage. Even that it only has micro USB port and 10 watt charging, the deviee and charger were very efficient that it can go from 0 to 100% in less than 3 hours.
On cameras, the device offer auto normal, panorama, bokeh and selfies that from our surprise that it has dual selfie "line" lights on left and right portions of the phone which for us, the coolest implementation. We were not that impressed on bokeh and panorama based on the number of samples that we did. The surprising part that for the asking price, the main sensor has f/1.8 aperture. Either on a not-so-sunny weather outside or for some of our food adventures, Pouvoir 4 did some justice on color accuracy and dynamic range.

Pros - Big display, very good battery life, dual LED selfie lights, a-ok camera for the price, 5 GHz WiFi support which is rare for under 5k, very good-souunding speakers\
Cons - two Google search bars, annoying game recommendations, not recognizing higher kinds of micro SD slots, could have been better on calls.
Tecno Pouvoir 4 is currently available in Php 4590. For us, this device is 4 out of 5
