realme 7i Unboxing, Review

We missed to check the "standard" and the "pro" but for us we got the eye for the "i" and we got it and it's verdict right after you watch it's official launch in the Philippines.

Meet the realme 7i

See our unboxing and first look on realme 7i by viewing this video in full:

Display:

Compared to the standard version (and given that it is the most affordable in the said series), realme 7i only has HD+ display but the upgrade would be the 90 Hz refresh rate which is a welcome thing for us if you are type of person who wants to do "endurance mode" on their battery life while still having 90 Hz display (if to compare in realme 6 to us with 90 Hz display based on our experience). Clarity was very good for us and for a normal LCD display, it's weakness is definitely is when you're outside in a high noon

Connectivity:

First time in the realme "i" phone to put in dual-band WiFi support which we enjoyed while working at home. Calls, texts, mobile data,  OTG and Bluetooth were very good on our part on both sims. I love the addiiton of data sim selection in the pulldown which is a great thing if you havc mobile data on both SIMs

Benchmarks:

On normal mode, realme 7i's score on Antutu reached at over 169000. Not that much difference when we turned on the performance mode at over 17000. Seven out of nine sensors were present on this device including the gyro sensor

Batttery:

On video battery rundown test, realme 7i scored at 35 hours and 40 minutes which almost no difference to realme 6i. Charging with it's 18 watt adapter will fully charge this device for a bit over 2 hours. Using it in heavy mixed usage always in 90 Hz display mode usually gave us at 1.75 days of usage.

Camera:

We seen the same UI if to compare with realme 6 series but a new, few tricks on realme's bag including the cyberpunk, modern gold and flamingo which adds interest in night mod which gave some justice based on our samples. The 64 MP camera mode works best if you are taking a shot with many details which we also had no complains. Another welcome addition is movie mode which now first time in a realme device to shoot manual video. We can't determine so far how good is the said feature but we didn't experience lag or noticeable heating at the back. The main cam can shoot up to Full HD 30 fps which we need to ask that SD 662 can shoot 4K video. At least, the phone can shoot HD 60 fps.

Here is what realme 7i camera UI looks like:

realme 7i's official price in the Philippines is at Php 11990 (8 GB RAM/128 GB ROM but you can get it as low as Php 10990 via a flash sale). If to compared to the highest version of realme 6i with 4 GB RAM and 128 GB ROM, the Php 1000-2000 price difference is a-ok for double the RAM, 90 Hz display, choice of Snapdragon processor and additional camera modes. The fingerprint-magnet back cover can be easily solved by it's given protective case. A few things that might be complained by some people would be almost the same processing power as to Helio G80 and the lack of 4K video shooting capability. For us, it's 4.25 out of 5 for realme 7i
