The new normal brought about by the pandemic has presented a new set of challenges for the Filipino entrepreneur, yet resourceful Pinoys have continued to find opportunities to thrive and survive, to further augment their livelihood.

In fact, the prolonged work from home setup has brought about a resurgence of putting up one’s own business, and while more and more Filipinos actually have good online business ideas, they realize upon starting that they will need to learn and develop new skills to ensure their business’ continued growth and longevity.

This is the main reason why PLDT Home, the Philippines’ fastest fixed network, is now powering Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) or the ‘minigosyantes’ in the country to thrive and grow their businesses online with the new and improved PLDT KaAsenso Program.

Through PLDT KaAsenso, entrepreneurs are not only provided with strong and stable internet connection, they also get free training sessions to equip them with the necessary tools and know-how that they will need as they start their online businesses, as well as free access to a wide range of e-commerce tools which will allow them to maneuver their way through today’s digital and online transactions.

To further assist MSMEs, the telco giant has likewise partnered with companies like PayMaya, UnionBank GlobalLinker, GrabExpress Madiskarteng Boss Club, and sulit.ph to ensure that digital solutions are made even more accessible, coupled with safe and secure seamless transactions.

Providing online tools and digital platforms for MSMEs

Recognizing that MSMEs today need a digital platform that will guarantee their visibility and access to market stakeholders, PLDT KaAsenso has also partnered with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the One Town, One Product (OTOP) Philippines for the DTI and OTOP Virtual Trade Expo 2020. This first ever online national livelihood caravan is scheduled to take place from September 24 to 28, 2020, and serves as the perfect venue for MSMEs to participate and promote their products and services.

Aside from hosting a virtual booth, business owners can also opt to attend some virtual seminars and workshops to learn how to start a business from scratch, while also fostering a competitive and innovative presence in the industry. At the same time, they can get the latest and most relevant information, tools, and resources, to further hone their business skills. The online caravan is open to all MSMEs nationwide.
