With the recent franchise denial of ABS-CBN and their announcement of lay off to workers, their sports arm will be one of the casualties.
As confirmed from ABS-CBN News site and various tweets from their previous and current personalities, ABS-CBN Sports will cease it's operations.
As quoted from their Integrated Sports Head Dino Laurena thru this social media post "The final buzzer, so ends this journey... I made the painful announcement to our beloved Sports team today>"
From Studio 23 days where they brought in PBL and MBA, up to Sports & Action/S&A days which we saw them cover UAAP for 2 decades and then NCAA, PVL, ABL, MPBL and later on ventured to e-sports which we enjoyed the coverages of MPL (Mobile Legends Professional League), Galaxy Battles and 2018 and 2019 editions of The International (DOTA 2), we will gonna miss for sure ABS-CBN Sports
