Smart already took considerations with the recent happenings due to COVID-19 spread in the country from free access to some government-based websites to free all-day Smart WiFi access to many areas nationwide but what about on current and those who are about to buy a PLDT Home WiFi Prepaid device which is powered by Smart LTE.
There are two good news to expect. First, PLDT Home WiFi Prepaid will still be at it's lowered price of Php 995. Although not stated where to get it, we suggest to catch in your nearest PLDT office, authorized offline dealers and even on the lookout at PLDT Home official store at Lazada (do not worry as logistics side will not be affected at the ongoing NCR commuity quarantine)
Another is something for current WiFi Prepaid subs which their worry is the end of promo date for 3x Famload promos (which you get 2x data at the same price for 199 to 1499 pesos promos). As stated from an article from PLDT's official statement by PLDT Head of Public Affairs Ramon Isberto, the said promo will continue this April. He only mentioned the Famload 199 for 24 GB but we believe that it will be also the same for other higher Famload promos like Famload 599, Famload 999 and Famload 1499 which you can get 200 GB of data good for 30 days for 1499 pesos. It is not yet clear though on the exact date of April 2020 is the end of promo date but sure we will gonna have more updates from them soon.
Update as of March 17, 2020 - 11:40 am - We clarified a part of the statement of Mr. Isberto on 2x Famload promo extenstion after March 31 2020 and thru one of PLDT officials, he/she said that Famload 199 will be the only one for now that will be extended until April 2020 so Famload 599, Famload 999 and Famload 1499 are not in the list. Still no official words on the the new end of promo date for 2x data Famload 199 this April but expect new udpates on this blog post
Still if to compare with for example Famload 999 with 130 GB of data good for 30 days for Php 999, Famload 199 for 5 straight weeks (35 days equals) is not a bad option at all for 24 GB a week for Php 199
