Lazada PH Issues Statement On COVID-19 Concerns

With last night's announcement of community quarantine in Metro Manila starting March 15 2020, logistics is one of the many concerns especially on those who rely on online shopping. Good thing, it will not be that much of an issue. Earlier, Lazada Philippines was quick to respond about it.

They sent us an email which might be also the same one from the rest of their registered shoppers but in case you missed it, here it is quoted:

Lazada is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our customers. We are taking the necessary precautionary measures issued by the Philippine Government for the COVID-19 public health situation.

Meanwhile, Lazada will continue with normal operations. We are also assessing the full impact of the new measures to our operations, and will evaluate how we can continue to support customers and businesses.

We have a system in place to ensure end-to-end safety and are observing preventive measures:

●        Regular disinfection and sanitation of our warehouse and sortation facilities

●        Safe handling of packages in a clean and sanitized environment

●        Strict implementation of daily temperature checks and hygiene practices for all our warehouse and delivery personnel, such as regular hand washing, wearing of masks, and sanitizing before and after each delivery.

According to analysis of the World Health Organization (WHO)*, the likelihood of contracting the virus from commercial goods/packages that have moved, travelled, and been exposed to different conditions and temperature is low.  COVID-19 virus does not survive on objects like parcels.

With the current environment, our warehouse and delivery personnel have been working tirelessly to ensure business operations. While the movement of goods is not restricted, we expect our warehouse and delivery operations to experience delays due to the new measures put in place by the government.

Please bear with us during this time as we work to ensure your orders are delivered.

We will update with more information soon.
