Around a couple of weeks ago, you saw it here #RNTDFirst on the Smart Prepaid 5G SIM which became available in online stores and then later on confirmed by one of the executives. Now, it's time to meet this thing in the flesh.
As of this time, there are only two sellers of it thru Shopee (except fot those who are selling Smart Prepaid 5G SIMs with vanity number for a higher SRP) and surprisingly, they are selling it for 10 pesos the official SRP of Php 40 (shipping excluded). This what it looks like at the front. For security reasons, we blurred the mobile number and ICCID number but to give you an idea, the prefix starts at 0961
You can flap the entire packaging and it will reveal something like this and it made cleared about the 1 GB mobile data freebie which had 300 MB upon activation and get 700 MB upon loading Php 30 within 3 days from activation
Like what they promised, Smart Prepaid 5G SIM is in triple-cut (I wonder if in regular sim, the only thing that we thinking that it can be used for possible 5G prepaid routers). I love what Smart did on this as to compare with the LTE sim in white background, this one stands out in black. At the back, you can also see the mobile and ICCID numbers
The question right now is how and when Smart Communications will gonna have an official introduction to it. Quite impressive that they brought it at the same price of regular Smart LTE sim compared to the early days of LTE sim which you need to buy as high as Php 300. From what it's indicated, it should work even in an LTE-only capable smartphone. For sure, we will gonna that formal announcement from them very soon
