Smart Load Retailers Got Lucky on Super8 Grocery Hakot Challenge

Sari-sari store owner Gaudiosa Minguito, 49, has been selling e-load for almost two decades. This, she said, helps augment their family’s income. Minguito usually opens her store at four in the morning and closes it at midnight every day, in order to sell more load.

“A lot of people were looking for load, so I thought of selling it in my store. Of course, that’s additional income,” Minguito said. “Every additional peso that I earn from selling e-load counts because I would be able to give money to my children when they go to school,” she added.

Minguito is one of the 16 Smart, TNT, and Sun load retailers who got the chance to participate in the biggest grocery hakot challenge by PLDT wireless subsidiary Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart), in partnership with Super8 Retail Systems, Inc (Super8).

Held at Super8 Grocery Warehouse along Visayas Avenue in Quezon City, these Smart load retailers were given two minutes to gather goods from the stalls amounting to 10,000 pesos each.

“We have been conducting a number of hakot events in the past years, and we have noticed that customers really look forward to it. It creates excitement and builds brand loyalty among retailers. It also encourages them to increase their basket size in order to participate in the hakot promo,” said Emily Carlos, Assistant Marketing Manager, Super8 Retail Systems, Inc.

“This is really about showing our appreciation to these chosen Smart e-load retailers, who help us in ensuring that our subscribers have a convenient way to reload their Smart, TNT, and Sun prepaid accounts in their respective communities,” said Christian So, AVP for National Key Accounts Development at Smart.

“Through these retailers, we are able to reach and serve more customers, and encourage them to enjoy Smart’s fastest LTE network wherever they are in the Philippines,” said Precy P. Katigbak, FVP and Head, National Key Accounts at Smart.
