After their "1000" 5G processor, Mediatek solidified their race to 5G with the recent introduction of Mediatek Dimension 800 at the ongoing CES 2020
Mediatek Dimension 800 is an octa-core SoC which has 4 Cortex-A76 cores at 2 GHz and 4 Cortex-A55 cores also at 2 GHz. On cameras, it can support up to 64 MP single camera or dual 32 + 16 MP main cameras. It also supports, AI autofocus, autoexposure, auto white balance, noise reduction and HDR
Mediatek Dimension 800 has 2CC carrier aggregation which bring 30% wider coverage, supports both SA and NSA sub-6GHz networks, 2G to 5G multi mode support and VoNR which can deliver voice and data over 5G
No details yet on the possible timeline that we will gonna see this chipset on future smartphones
