Last Thursday despite that they revealed almost all of it in their social media platform, MyPhone made a formal introduction of their MyPhone MyX12 to select local media
Like what we posted from our previous blog post, the specs that we we got from MyX12 were correct but from their presentation, both their officials and us clarified some of their missing info in their specs sheet.
As you may have an idea, MyX12 is quite using a bit old school 28 nm chipset via the Unisoc SC9863A which it was a conscious effort to them to put in a stock Android 9 Pie with some pre-loaded MyPhone apps like Pinoy app. When we asked if that will be the "saying goodbye" sign to their custom MyOS UI that we saw in the previous devices, they are saying yes (as you can check from their FB live feed here )
It adds more value to MyPhone MyX12 priced at Php 5,499 as until December 31, 2019, you can get a free Php 25,000 accident insurance good for one year. When we had a chit-chat with MyPhone Vice President Kevin Tan, he was proud that the inquiry for orders was on high demand especially in the provinces about the MyX12.
And for our hands-on :
Here is the front view of MyX12 with it's f/2.8 front cam and 6.26 inch HD+ display at 19:9 ratio. You can easily check the bit thick chin bezel but it's forgivable for us
The back has that shining back finish with it's dual main cam system and the discreet designs of it's Philippine map and MyPhone logo but we saw a different version from one of their officials with the same color but with white-colored Philippine map. A rare commodity in phones right now, the phone has a removable which you can access the dual nano sim slots, micro SD slot and 3,500 mAh removable battery
Just ignore the left portion as it's opposite side comes with volume rocker and power/unlock button. The top portion has 3.5 mm audio jack, OTG capable micro USB port and IR blaster which from their testing, it works with a third party remote app like from Xiaomi
We took some minutes to play with the said device and it had some tweaks from it's pulldown menu. As you can see there, one of their officials confirmed that the phone can do dual 4G standby. Out of 64 GB internal memory, you can have almost 50 Gb remaining for your apps and media. Wittout the MyOS in the scene, another welcome thing to see an app drawer in a MyPhone device since the old days of My35 and My36
Both cameras have the basics like HDR, beauty mode and bokeh to it's secondary back sensor. For now, we had the basics which revealed both shooters have f/2.8 aperture taken from one of the meeting rooms inside Green Sun Hotel. Quite fair enough so far

We are glad to share that we will be unpacking MyPhone MyX12 soon so be on the lookout as we might gonna do it either on facebook.com/rntdblog or thru one of our future blog posts
