A Closer Look At Globe At Home 5G Modem

Globe Telecom already teased it as early as late of last year and a month, it had a small media event as we saw from our social media feeds but our readers want to know more so we took our chance to visit Globe at Home's ongoing showcase to check out their latest 5G modem.

Had a closer look and we found that it was the Huawei 5G CPE Pro that is powering the current Globe at Home 5G Plans which are only available in 3 areas in Metro Manila including a part of Pasig City.

With Bailong 5000 inside and to the reliabiity that we experienced in Huawei's previous LTE routers, for sure this device will gonna bring in outstanding performance.

Compared to their 5G teaser last year, it was a different Huawei 5G modem now with rounded corners (compared to the previous one in circular form. It was not that busy in ports except on the back portion with 2 LAN ports and power (which we saw at the bottom part of the device) at 12V 2A input. It was twice the powee requirement as compared to Globe At Home Prepaid WiFi at 12V 1A and got the same as the Huawei B525 4G+ router that we saw in one of the local tech stores recently. One of the Globe reps that assisted us mentioned that it can connect up to 16 devices.

We saw from social media feeds that the pics of Speedtest only based on Globe's own server in QC so we had a dare to one of the reps and also did a Speedtest on Skybroadband's server and even got better internet speeds results at 14 ms in 446.68 download and 18.53 upload. Not parallel compared to Fiber but the download rates has definitely the wow factor.

Globe at Home 5G showcase is still ongoing until September 7 2019 in Bonifacio High Street just nearby the Globe store and you might even score a freebie from them and see more of what a 5G connection can change your home in terms of connectivity
