We took some time on putting our judgment on the Vivo V15 Pro. As expected, we got a major udpate on this smarpthone which you might not find anywhere else. here's our Vivo V15 Pro review.
There were two stories on the two versions that we told earlier especially on the connectivity. On version 113, we got almost the check mark on calls, texts, mobile data, Bluetooth, GPS and OTG except for WiFi which is pretty poor compared to three other high midrangers that I tried at that time. On version 117, that jumped right above to about 3 times faster to the point that we can get that 200 down and 155 up on Speedtest on Google WiFi in MRT Buendia
On battery, it survived in surprising 21 hours and 15 minutes in our video battery rundown test with it's 3,700 mAh battery. In our real world usage in heavy mode and 6 hours of screen on time, we can get at 1.5 to 1.75 days. Charging time is at around 90 minutes.
On benchmarks, it is 7 out of 9 sensors activated on this V smartphone. On Antutu, the numbers got some improvements too with the likes of Kirin 710 and Snapdragon 660 that we almost got it at 180k
When we unpacked the Vivo V15 Pro as early as a week before the official local launch, it was at version 113 but a huge update that we got which is version 117. From new Funtouch OS based on Android 9 Pie, we got a brand new font from the clock widget down to the settings. The pulldown menu was still there and all of it's essentials including their all kinds of screenshot options. With the full screen display, the custom OS is almost ready for primetime except that we hate that it is still has the least support for multi window mode and forcing you to use Vivo browser when you are about to click an external link for example, those social media posts. We got the better 8 GB RAM version compared to the 6 GB version in India which helped us in massive multi tasking that we did to test it.
We chose to put in the protective case as we were afraid that the back part's delicate. We usually have the phone either on our workstation's table and our pocket and the protective case easily got some scratches
With that 5th gen under display fingerprint sensor, it improved compared to Vivo V11 that we checked previously. Almost no problems for us.

Almost the same camera tricks on it's camera UI except for the texts and we got the 48 MP option (on the settings) One thing that we love on the 48 MP option, you can use it on zoom. Unlike Huawei's Night Mode, it is easier to use the night mode of Vivo and we got some very good shots mostly on one attempt. The bokeh was also almost at point too. Between the 12 and 48 MP camera samples, most of the time we only usually see little difference. With the newest Funtouch OS, expect that you will still not gonna have that full control on the pro mode. Auto and selfie shots were very good on color accuracy and quality
On extras, we noticed this again in the number of Vivo smartphones that we tested - sometimes poor reception on FM radio.

The asking price of Vivo V15 Pro is Php 24999 which we got the better 8 GB RAM variant, new Snpadragon 675 octa-core processor, triple main cameras and pop out selfie camera plus the under display fingerprint sensor, expected that you will need to pay extra compared to V11. If they did not fix the WiFi issue, we might gonna grade it a bit lower but it was already fixed. Even with a brand new Funtouch OS, we still saw same of the a-ok things and not-so-ok including the less support on apps on multi window and pro mode. It's gonna be 4 out of 5 for us for Vivo V15 Pro
