With the arrival of the Reno, it's confirmed that it might be the last R series that we might gonna see in the local shores and we were lucky to bring the verdict about it. This is our OPPO R17 Pro review
Out of 128 GB internal storage, you can have of around 108 GB for your app and media storage (if you choose to put in a micro SD in here)
The phone has Color OS 5.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo which we never expected that it might be a some sort-of a preview to OPPO F11 like on the clock widget font that you can see here. No problems in the UI overall from the pulldown menu, creating folder and multitasking.

On connectivity, most were fine from calls, texts, mobile data, WiFi and OTG. On GPS, we usually get around 8 out of 10 accurate attempts. On Bluetooth, we had an issue on it which is kinda weird for this 30+ k smartphone
On extras, we noticed two unusual things in here compared to the number of OPPO devices that we tested since 2014. We were a bit worried on unstable Bluetooth connection while we are walking paired with our Bluetooth earphones and poor FM radio signal even that we are just outside in Valero area in Makati City. It was a bit weird for us that we are hoping for a system update on it soon.
On battery, the phone survived in 20 hours and 25 minutes in our video battery rundown test. Used it as a main driver, we had it between 1.5 to 1.75 days of usage. With it's Super VOOC charger which has 10 V 5 A for a total of 50 watts (stronger than your typical 24 inch TV that consumes around less than 40 watts) in 38 minutes from 0 to 100%
On camera, we had limited time to borrow this smartphone so we focused on the main sensor which has 12 MP. Almost all of the lighting scenarios that we threw in got very good output even on HDR. Still same same on the not-so-controllable pro mode. Image processing is a bit faster thanks to it's SD 710 processor

OPPO R17 Pro's strong points are the fast charging tech, display, most in the connectivity department, battery life and as an auto shooter. Cons for me will be the poor Bluetooth connection, FM radio and even that they dropped the price from 39,990 to Php 32,990, it was still a hard sell for us as for 2019, either we can add a few thousand or buy for less with a smartphone with high-end processor. For us, it will be 3.5 out of 5 for OPPO R17 Pro
