LG Philippines Wins At Anvil Awards 2019

LG Philippines demonstrated its leadership as it won a Silver Anvil for its campaign with the National Museum of the Philippines.

True to its commitment in helping promote education through technology, the Anvil-winning CSR campaign headlined a large donation in-kind to the National Museum of the Philippines, both in acknowledgement of its valuable work and to celebrate its newly opened National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) in Rizal Park.

LG aimed to promote a more holistic and interactive experience for visitors by donating one 65-inch OLED TV (E8), one 55-inch OLED TV (C8) and one 55-inch UHD TV to the premier public museum institution in the country.

(L-R): LG Philippines Product Manager Angelica Dumlao, National Museum of the Philippines Director Jeremy Barns, CESO III, LG Philippines Vice President for Home Entertainment Mr. Jongnam An, Photographer and videographer Mr. Noel Guevara, LG Philippines Corporate Marketing Head Ms. Ana Marie Salapantan, and LG Philippines Marketing Communications Officer Mr. Kriztoff Dela Cruz.

“Our advocacy campaign intends to highlight the crucial role of technology in enabling better access to educational resources and informative content,” said LG Philippines Managing Director Mr. Inkwun Heo. “We believe that this campaign with the National Museum of the Philippines will help drive better appreciation and understanding among Filipinos through an immersive experience provided by the world’s #1 OLED TV.”

LG also commissioned underwater conservationist director and photographer Noel Guevara to create a video that showcases the richness and beauty of underwater life in the Philippines, said to be the epicenter of marine biodiversity on earth.

The video, shot off Balicasag Island in Panglao, Bohol, featured colorful reefs, tropical fish of all sizes and the island’s resident turtles. Titled as “The Marine Realm in the Philippines, The Bohol Sea: A Marine Key Biodiversity Area,” the video is available for viewing at the NMNH and LG Philippines’ social media assets.

“The campaign is more than just a donation. It’s about fostering a culture of learning and giving importance to education through technological innovations and digitally available content that will have a long-term value. It’s about shaping the minds of future generations,” added Heo. “Through this award, we hope we can inspire more change and help build the nation further through technology.”

Dubbed as the Oscars of the communication industry, the Anvil Awards is organized by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines, recognizing the best public relations campaigns in the country.

An immersive experience

The Anvil-winning campaign also put the spotlight on the 77-inch LG OLED W8 TV, LG’s most stunning display to date.

Known as the “Wallpaper TV” for its cutting edge and immersive display that resembles a modern piece of art, the W8 was used to launch the campaign through a media event at the NMNH, showcasing
Guevara’s video in immaculate visuals.

Marrying best-in-class picture quality with a mind-blowing “wallpaper” design, the W8 represents the peak of TV technology, flaunting true-to-life picture quality and cinema-quality Dolby Atmos sound. This newly launched model is also equipped with LG’s new Alpha α9 intelligent processor, which has the ability to create the clearest and most detailed pictures with realistic color and ultra-fast response times
