It was only on the entry-level segment but having this as Huawei Mobile Philippines' first Android Go release and might-be a good gift this Christmas for it's affordability? That made us decide to buy this thing (yup, not a review unit)
Meet the Huawei Y5 Lite 2018 which is exclusive to Lazada Philippines. Here's the front view of the box. If you will ask us, there's no plastic wrapper but the guys from Lazada PH made our device secure with their standard smartphone box and bubble wrap
Here is the front view of the device with 5 MP front camera, earpiece which also acts as a speaker (if you will gonna listen to music with earphones), Huawei logo and 5.45 inch HD+ display in 18:9 ratio with pre-applied screen protector. Still pretty good for it's asking price. For the internals, it has 1.5 GHz Mediatek MT6739 quad-core processor, 1 GB RAM, 16 GB ROM and Android Oreo Go Edition so EMUI - not for now in this phone
Here's the back view of the device with 8 MP main cam with f/2.8 aperture and flash, Huawei logo on that non-removable plastic yet a bit rubberish back cover. Underneath powering this phone with 3,020 mAh battery
The right portion has power/unlock button and volume rocker while at the bottom, the pin hole mic and micro USB port which glad to know that it has USB OTG support
The top part has 3.5 mm audio jack and the left portion, additional positive points on this device with dual nano SIM and dedicated micro SD slot in one tray. We will still try to verify the maximum capacity that it can carry
Even with this online-only release of Huawei PH, we were happy that they included a protective case (not the TPU case that you may find from their competitiors) plus the warranty card, quick start guide, earphones, micro USB to USB port, earphones and 5V 1A charger. With this plug and the given battery, we have a guess that it will take us around 3 hours to fully charge this device
We bought this device at the recent Lazada PH 12.12 Sale at Php 4,490 as part of the brand's promotion but as of this writing, they brought it back to it's regular pricing at Php 5,490. Will this be another contender in the entry-level segment with it's Android Go as it's main charm to it's potential buyers? We will gonna find soon in our review
