PLDT, Smart Communications and Clark Development Corporation (CDC) earlier inked a memorandum of understanding which brings Smart's first 5G city in Clark
"We are happy to be working with CDC in building the city of the future, euipped with smart services and powered by 5G infrastructure right here in Pampanga. This will benegut not only Clark but the country as well by demonstrating that we are in step with the rest of the world in adopting advanced intelligent technologies" - PLDT/Smart Chairman & CEO Manny V Pangilinan
In one of the slides explained by PLDT & Smart Chief Technology and Information Advisor Mr. Joachim Horn, there are 13 existing 5G sites and 12 additional will come in for a total of 25 Smart 5G cities to be scattered around the ever-growing city. In the Q and A session after, he mentioned that it will be on target within 6 months
"We are glad that Clark was chosen to serve as the location for the very first 5G wireless platform in the Philippiens. This, we believe will not only be of benefit to Clark locators but also the many industries, various businesses and communities in the country as well" - CDC President/CEO Noel Manankil
This move is on time as New Clark City will continue to push in for more development as part of the national government's Build, Build, Build program as well for the push of transfer of some of the national officies, new residential, industrial and sports facilities in the years to come/
As they put in the country's most extensive fiber network at 221,000 kilometers, PLDT and Smart are all set for 5G
