As One Sky is adapting to the millenials and the "on demand" thing on cable TV programming, they made an official introduction on Sky On Demand Box
Sky On Demand Box allows to you to check the channels on Sky plus in one box, you can check out Netflix and Youtube in one go. Other features include picture-in-picture (PIP) which you can watch 2 channels at the same time, iRecord which you can pause, rewind and record
There's also a Sky On Demand Remote App which acts as your remote control, use the phone as the second screen, stream TV audio to your phone. The app will work on at least Android 5.1, iPhone 5 or iPad Mini 4
In a statement from SKY Business Unit Head fot Consumer Product Group Ms. Claudia Suarez "Online viewing is gaining ground in the Philippines given the growing internet penetration over the past 3 years. However, research shows that Filipinos still enjoy watching content on TV, whether it be for legacy delivery of TV programs from cable boxes or streamed via the internet. It is still an enjoyable family bonding activity. The new SKY On Demand box simplifies the viewing experience of Filipinos by enabling content preferences to be accesible on TV using just one device."
When we checked out the I/O ports, it has 2 USB ports (one at the left, one at the back), RF cable, power input and HDMI cable. From one of our pics, it can read even an external hard drive
On plans and pricing, the standalone package is at Php 4999 from no lock-in to HD 299 Plan and Php 2999 for HD 549 and up plans. If bundled on One Sky Fiber Unli (8, 16, 32, 64 Mbps) + Cable TV Plans, the box will be at Php 1,999 with 24-month lock-in period. Currently it is available to NCR subscribers and will be nationwide in the next few months
