Like in our usual routine after a smartphone launch, the day will not be complete for us without some checking of the latest "X"
Here is the Honor 8X which has that a bit bigger 6.5 inch FHD+ display which is not that much difference in terms of one-hand navigation compared to our currrent main driver, Honor Play at 6.2 inches. Still loving the display quality of this one which I though might be of the ways to cut some costs. This is Php 3,000 more affordable than Honor Play but it has 35% less powerful but still capable with Kirin 710 octa-core processor
Yup, we got the color black in the launch which is quite difficult to check the sides. Power/unlock button at the right and at left (we are happy on this) dual nano SIM + dedicated micro SD slot plus volume rocker at the right. The bottom view has 3.5 mm audio jack, micro USB port and speaker
The back view of the device with the placing of the dual main camera and the Honor naming, you can tell that it is quite a smaller version of Honor Note 10. Quite glossy finish on the back so better to have your wiping cloth ready on this. For sure once the commercial unit is available, you can get a protective case on this
For those are interested, here's a size comparison with the Honor Play that we have. As expected, it is a bit taller and wider. This might be an alternative for those who might be tired of looking for Honor Play both on offline and online if you do not prioritize Fortnite and GPU Turbo but the edge of 8X will be the real dual SIM support and bigger display.
We did not include the camera samples just yet as we are preparing for another blog post with "some" in the mix so stay tuned. Honor 8X will be available in the Philippines starting October 13 for Php 12,990
