MyPhone MyX8 Review

We are waiting for it since last summer, used it as a main driver and now our verdict on MyPhone's comeback LTE smartphone - MyPhone MyX8

On the UI, not sure if they still call it but their familiar UI ala MyUI is again visible on MyX8 and that is without the app drawer but the pulldown menu and the settings, it is quite the same that we seen in the likes of Android Oreo Go phones that we tested. With a brand new low-cost Mediatek MT6739 quad-core processor plus 2 GB RAM, the phone handled it decently with those light and medium apps

Connectivity was on our watch as we mentioned, it been almost two years since we seen an LTE-capable phone from the local tech brand and it was pretty good using Globe and Smart sims. The rest were on check including calls, texts, Bluetooth, WiFi and GPS

On the benchmark department, the numbers were almost identical to the phones that we checked with Mediatek MT6737 quad-core processor so we expect to play at least on what it's maximum capacity can do, to play Asphalt at low qualiy to survive on this phone

The huge 4,000 mAh battery is also a welcome addition to it as if you are pretty much be on lock on mobile data on this phone. In our video battery rundown test, it lasted for 14 hours and 20 minutes. In the days that we used it as a main driver, it canl last for us for over a day with around 5 1/2 hours of average screen on time. I just do not like a bit that they only provided a 5V 1.5A charger instead of at least 5V 2A one so in charging time, you will need around 3 hours fron 0 to 100%

On camera, the MyX8 just put in the basics which is fit for an entry-level phone with auto and HDR modes. It was decent enough for daytime shots but not to challenge it on night time and dark areas

Huge battery, decent processor, connecitivity and camera were the strengths of MyPhone MyX8. I never encountered any issues and to the camera it was right enough for Php 4,999 which also hits the spot compared to other local counterparts. I just hope that they provided at least a bit stronger 5V 2A charger to at least to have a bit faster on charging time. It is 4 out of 5 for us on MyPhone MyX8
