We had to set aside our thoughts first on this Huawei high end phone for some other things but of course before October strikes with a ton of smartphone launch events and before we get even busy, I think it is the proper time to unleash our Huawei P20 Pro Review
We encountered the P20 Pro in EMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo. Still I praised Huawei's own UI for doing it's best to support apps on multi window modeIf there is still a lil pain for me about this which I am still complaining on their latest custom UI, the removal of 4G toggle button in their pulldown menu. Please Huawei, bring that one back
Connectivity? Huawei has done it again as it did not gave me that problems at all for calls, texts, mobile data, GPS, WiFi and NFC
Yup, I knew that the Kirin 980 is on the window next month but Kirin 970 was more than enough for me if the benchmarks will tell at around 202,000+ on Antutu
On battery, it was a huge improvement compared to the P10 Plus. Before if I gonna be awake at late night for a rock gig, I might have some trouble on battery life but not on the P20 Pro. With the 10 nm Kirin 970 and 4,000 mAh battery, the P20 Pro survived a heavy user like me with around 7 hours of screen on time. On our video battery rundown test, it survived in 16 hours and 20 minutes
On camera, some may think that this 3-camera set-up is a gimmick. Well not all but even if you will gonna utilize more of 2 cameras, this one is a beast auto shooter day and night. In almost all of lighting situations, P20 Pro was that damn good. Some may also doubt on the 5x and 10x zoom of P20 Pro but it was also very good on paper. If you want to explore more, that extensive pro mode is for you but the f/1.6 aperture also gave me a lil problem in terms of those "light trail" shots especially if you came from either the P9 or P10. The night mode was the answet to that which gave some justice. Not that introduced heavily as a selfie shooter but P20 Pro has done an excellent job in normal shot as well as two of my fave modes like portrait and portrait monochrome options

Huawei P20 Pro already released months ago so that price drop to Php 40,990 is a welcome development as we are just less than a month away to face the upcoming Mate 20 high-end phone with the expected, more powerful Kirin 980 processor. Still camera-wise, this is definitely one of the best in auto shooting and a leader of the pack in the pro mode. Connectivity, looks, functionality and battery life are also quite strong. Even at months ago already, the 4K video output was still the weakest characteristic of the phone so far so I will gonna give 4.5 out of 5 for Huawei P20 Pro
