We waited for this device way back in December 2017. Since it became out in the market last May, we constantly communicating to various parties for this to happen and it's finally here. Our fourth check of a digital TV device but with it is quite different
Meet the Easy TV Super Digibox which is currently rolled out by Solar Digital Media Holdings, Inc - a subsidiary of Solar Entertainment Corporation which made possible to bring 14 Solar-based cable and DTH channels now in this DTV box including some of my faves like NBA Premium, Jack TV, BTV and MTVph plus all of the free-to-air DTV channels (depending on your area)
You can see the top and bottom views of the box which is pretty neat
This is the front view of the box which has an LCD screen to see the signal status (3 bars at best signal possible), device status (off or on) and channel
The top with Easy TV logo as well as this "waterdrop" inspired design on it plus the labels for volume, channel and power
The huge air vents, model and smartcard number stickers were down at the bottom
At the back, you can check the antenna, regular USB port for media player and recording functions, regular HDMI port and 12V 1A output jack
The right side of the device, you can see these five buttons representing for power, channel up and down and volume keys
Aside from the device, you can have the user guide, 1.5 meter antenna, 12V 1A plus, 2 free AAA batteries for the remote, HDMI cable (not shown in the photo) A/V cable and the remote control
Before I throw in my thoughts so far, kindly read the official statements from their executives from their media gathering happened last June 21:
"Easy TV offers consumers a convenient, practical and affordable means to accesss and enjoy great television content. By combining premium channels with local free to air broadcasts, Easy TV delivers quality entertainment in one small but very powerful super digibox." - Rene Esguerra Solar Digital Media CEO
"As viewing habits are changing with the times, we believe that Easy TV will also be a game-changer, not only in the viewing experience but also in the digital media industry in the country." - Solar Entertainment Corp. President/CEO Wilson Tieng
So far, the box was complete except that the 1.5 meter antenna was kinda short to my liking as well as to potential Mega Manila customers (like Bulacan, Laguna and possibly some areas in Batangas - giving an idea) that needs to put this antenna up in their roofs for better signal reception (but I can show you a quick turnaround on this later at a separate blog post) but so far I like that the plug is not built-in unlike in other counterparts (for possible replacement reasons) and the unique design of Easy TV device itself in a curvy look unlike in others with that typical boxy-type form factor.
We will gonna take this for a spin and for sure, I knew that this device is not just only work on limited areas like others told you before. Watch out for our review soon
