Converge ICT Grabs Carrier Ethernet 2.0 Certification

Converge ICT Inc recently received a Carrier Ethernet 2.0 Certification from international standards body, Iometrix, bringing the local company up to par with global compliance standards.

Compliance with these service frameworks mean that Converge's current network infrastructure now has the technological capacity to enable multiple classes of service for its consumers and clients, providing better manageability over its interconnected network. Headquartered in Silicon Valley, Iometrix is a global authority in ICT compliance and conformity, linking local organizations such as Converge with international regulatory bodies to allow for potential industry development.

The assessment done by Iometrix on Converge’s network infrastructure is in compliance with the frameworks agreed upon by MEF (Metro Ethernet Forum), a nonprofit international industry consortium built to guide adoption of stringent but necessary global standards for Carrier Ethernet networks and services.

Issued early last month, the certification aligns Converge ICT's current campaign towards a nationwide rollout through further interoperability with global network standards. Passing the assessment for Carrier Ethernet 2.0 (CE 2.0) means that features such as service attributes and traffic management capabilities are now streamlined into Converge's core network operation, accelerating its deployment and expansion while retaining a stable level of overall performance.

“The MEF CE 2.0 certification is furthered bolstered by the decision of our company to deploy advanced EDD (Ethernet Demarcation Devices) from Coriant, a leading provider of high end networking solutions” shared Converge CTO Ronald Brusola, explaining further that the EDD now allows Converge to have “a more proactive stance in terms of ensuring Service Levels are met or exceeded.” On the technical side, EDD supports high-reliability networking at speeds at throughput speeds of up to 10 GBps. This kind of capacity allows network technicians to perform non-intrusive testing, which lets Converge provide faster resolution for any network issues which might occur, minimizing downtime and ensuring stable network performance for its clients.

Upon receiving the certification, Converge COO Boboy Romero expressed gratitude towards Iometrix and the MEF, sharing that their team is "happy and excited, because now our plans are guided and aligned based on globally-competitive standards."

In line with its campaign for a better internet for more Filipinos, Converge's intensified efforts to lay the groundwork and infrastructure for pure, end-to-end fiber internet connectivity received media attention at a press conference held earlier this week at EDSA Shangri-La Hotel, where Converge President and CEO Dennis Anthony Uy passionately sharing his vision of "helping more people connect with one another" to a crowd of tech industry magnates.

Converge ICT Solutions is currently working with its international partners Korea Telecoms, LSI-Fibernet Konstruk Corporation, and TE Connectivity Subcom, to effectively and securely deploy its expansion throughout the Philippines by 2021. With a reliable backbone of internet connectivity for all, Converge hopes to help accelerate and strengthen social progress and economic development for the Philippines.
