Seen first at their recent Computex 2018 presentation just over a month ago, Asus Philippines is hoping to get a piece of the market pie for those who want a gaming-capable desktop without the hassle of building it by your own plus still has advantages of customizing.
Known mostly by their motherboards and other PC peripherals, it's been a while that they are coming up with a gaming desktop - ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) Hurucan G21
It has a slim 13-liter chassis but still can have some proper ventilation with it's flappable cover, RGB ligthing inside and outside the system and unit plus it has a 2 year warranty with offline support for their over 100 ROG stores nationwide and you can easily upgrade it later on from SSD, RAM and even the GPU
On the key specs, the Philippine version of ROG Hurucan G21 comes with Intel i7 8700U 3.2 GHz processor, Windows 10 64-bit, 16 GB DDR4 2666 MHz RAM, 3.5 mm HDDD SATA 1 TB, 7.1 channel audio with ESSSabre ES9118EQ headphone DAC, 2 USB 3.1 2 ports and 1 USB 3.1 Gen. 1 port at the back, 1 RJ45 ethernet port, another 4 USB 3.1 Gen. 2 and 2 USB 3.1 Gen. 1 ports at the front, 2 HDMI port, 2 DP, 2 DVI and weighs 8.3 kilograms
There will be two prices to choose from: the one with GTX 1070 GPU and M.2 SSD SATA 256 GB at Php 119,995 and the other with GTX 1080 GPU and M.2 SSD SATA 512 GB at Php 139.995
The question though as from their presentation, you can upgrade from GTX 1070 to GTX 1080 but it has different power supply requirements with GTX 1070 needs 2x 180 W power supply while the GTX 1080 has one 180 and one 230 W power supply. If you are coming from GTX 1070 to GTX 1080, one Asus PH official believed that a pair of 180 W power supply can do the job but if we had a clear info about it, we are inquiring for the availability and price of the 230 W power supply needed for the Hurucan G21
Asus ROG Hurucan G21 gaming desktop is now available in select ROG stores in Metro Manila
