Globe Announced - They Are 5G Ready

With the buzz of what will be the next one after 4G, Globe Telecom is putting a serious answer

With their long partnership with Huawei, they announced that they are 5G ready as they will gonna make it commercially with it's availability this 2Q of 2019

With Air Fiber technology, that will bring break down the obstacles of having their 4G components in some key areas as we knew it, either lots of permits for ever single barangay or those barriers from exclusive villages and subdivisions

From a statement from Globe President and CEO Ernest Cu "Air Fiber internet, which makes use of fixed location wireless radios instead of fiber could provide speeds ranging from 50 to 100 Mbps

As early as 2016, they already have a large deployment of Massive MIMO in Asia as compared to an ordinary cell tower set-up, it can cover millions.

In their showcase earlier in Bonifacio High Street, they got a speedtest of 2.07 Gbps. No clear answer though if what will be the first areas to experience Globe 5G (and if this will be only on postpaid or both prepaid and postpaid)
