The landline + tablet combo from PLDT Home lives on with their 2018 edition of PLDT Home Telpad
Named as model MA7, The landline itself as you already knew it but with the tablet itself, it will be more than just a landline
The device has Telpad Smart UX based on Android 7.0 Nougat with 1.6 GHz Rockchip RK3066 quad-core processor with Mali 400 GPU. The rest of the specs are as follows
Front: 7 inch WSVGA (1024 x 600) display resolution, front camera, first IR blaster
Back: Non-removable back cover, main camera with flash, second IR blaster, speakers, PLDT Home Telpad logo
Top: Main, multi directional IR blaser, volume rocker, power/unlock button
Bottom: Landline-connecting pins which also acts to charge the Android tablet while it is on dock mode
Left: Pin hole microphone, mini HDMI port, micro USB port, 3.5 mm. audio jack
Key features of the Telpad MA7 are the following:
- Telpad Smart UX has called ID with photo, can store unlimited contacts and call log and easy management
- Has Smart Home Control which you can able to control home appliances that can support thru IR. In the demo, they were easily controlled this simple LG aircon with the temperature controls, power controls and scheduling. It can even control set-top boxes like from Cignal. You can put some scheduling in
- Smart Home Care which can see your basic health info from body temperature and composition, family member record
Aside from the landline + tablet combo, the box also included mini HDMI to HDMI adapter (in case you only have an HDMI to HDMI cable), power cord to the landline, user manual and LAN cable
They mentioned that it will support OTA updates in the near future. In case that you might ask, the landline does not have a power source to power up the latest Telpad you have to charge it independently
