Aside from Vivo V9, another one from the Y series just arrived at our HQ which it was the first time for Vivo Philippines to produce two variants of the said phone
Here is Vivo Y71. The one that they allowed us to check is with 3 GB RAM and 13 MP main camera
The front has 5 MP secondary camera, 6 inch HD+ display in 18:9 display and earpiece. By the way, there is face unlock technology in here so it is ok that it does not have a fingerprint reader
The back has the familiar U-shaped antenna lines that I seen on Vivo V9. The Vivo branding can be felt by touch. Of course, the 13 MP rear camera and that rubber-ish back covering
Same story that we seen from a number of Vivo phones: Dual nano sim and micro SD slot in one tray at the left, volume rocker and power/unlock button at the right and single speaker, pin hole, headphone jack plus OTG capable micro USB port at the bottom
The 5V 1A charger looks familiar from that "blast from the past" Vivo Y51 as well as USB cable, sim ejector, earphones and user manual. Maybe to cut costs, there is no protective case provided.
In terms of pricing of it at Php 8,990, it directly hits the freshest phone on that price segment which is OPPO A83. It is the first time in Y series to provide an 18:9 display. Can the Vivo Y71 pull it off in the under 10k price market? We will find out soon in our review
