We had an early access weeks before it became available to the market and here I laid our verdict to Kata L1 in this review
On design and physical looks, it was ok for Kata with it's simple design yet I already saw some inspirations from some phone manufacturers. Expect that this phone is a bit heavy but it was reasonable for it's 3,500 mAh battery. The display was a-ok too.
On processor given that it only has 1.3 GHz Mediatek MT6580 quad-core SoC inside, we can only do some social media, browsing and some online video watching plus some texting and calling. Do not attempt to use it for games. On 8 GB internal memory, you wil gonna get around 3.63 GB remaining for app storage and to maximize it, you can uninstall some of the pre-loaded apps
On connectivity, 3G mobile data is good enough (if you are ok in there), WiFi, GPS, calls and texts. You will be missing LTE in here
On battery with it's 3,500 mAh battery and 6 inch HD display, it survived in 12 hours and 13 minutes in our video battery rundown test which is pretty good. In the number of days that I used it as a daily driver, I can survive it for more than a day with around 5 hours on screen on time and mixed usage.
Here are the some of the benchmarks which I already saw that familiar number in Antutu in 2016. Saving grace that it has 10 point multi touch
On camera, it can perform good enough at outside environment and with indoor lighting. The sensors are not that good enough for nightime shoots

The pricing, the official pricing of Kata L1 is Php 4,999 while they had recently held a pre-order promo which went down to Php 4,249. I would probably go for the latter as the official SRP might be a lil steep given that they went to an older MT6580 (better that they put in MT6737 instead which puts an automatic LTE connecivity). Good thing that no other international brand has the same form factor within that price range but there are definitely a lot more options from the local counterparts
On extras, the fingerprint sensor was a-ok as you can unlock the phone from sleep and not having any problems while it is inside my pocket. Charging time took me at over 2 hours
Kata L1 is designed for the people for love to consume media on the go and having a big display and big battery at the same time and they were already for the non-existence of LTE as long as they have WiFi access everytime. It can be a decent shooter for social media postings but I hope the tech brand will gonna adjust a bit on the price range. I will gonna give 3.5 out of 5 for Kata L1
