More and more smartphones with 18:9 display aspect ratio will be rolling out this year with these two new additons from Xiaomi in their launch in China earlier this afternoon.
Xiaomi Redmi 5 has 1.8 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 octa-core processor, 5.7 inch HD+ display, MIUI 9 based on Android 7.1.2 Nougat, 12 MP main cam with flash, 5 MP front cam, LTE, 2 GB RAM/16 GB ROM or 3 GB RAM/32 GB ROM options, micro SD slot up to 128 GB, rear fingerprint reader and 3,300 mAh battery
Meanwhile, Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus has the more powerful and already proven Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor, 5.99 inch FHD+ display, same rear and front cams as to the Redmi 5 as well as the fingerprint sensor placing, LTE, 3 GB RAM/32 GB ROM or 4 GB RAM/64 GB ROm options and 4,000 mAh battery
Both the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus will appear in Gold, Pink, Black and Blue and will be available in their home country China this December 12. For prices, Redmi 5 will be at US$120 (2 GB RAM) and US$135 (3 GB RAM) while on Redmi 5 Plus, it will be at US$150 (3 GB RAM) and US$195 (4 GB RAM)
