It was the first Zenfone 4 that I had on it's launch a few months and coincidentally, it was also the first to able to borrow in this newest smartphone seriees from Asus for some verdict time. Here is the Asus Zenfone 4 Max review
It was a different feel to me on the ZF 4 Max compared when I had this a few months ago. After days of realization together with it's dual main camera, you may tell that it has some resemblance of the Zenfone 3 Zoom. It might not be noticeable but this device was one of most beautiful HD displays that I had seen so far
Calls, texts, WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth and almost in OTG support were a-ok in the connectvity department but there's a bit of annoyance to me on either inserting a thumbdrive or that known DTV dongle as it will prompt as for either standard or rapid charging. That gave some confusion on that DTV product to work
Most of the phones that I experienced with a Qualcomm SoC translates to better audio on 3.5 audio jack and it's also one addition on the list. It was on the balance side.
Battery was one of the shining factors of ZF4 Max. Since I already shifted as a heavy user, I can use the ZF4 Max for 36 hours of mixed usage with around 8 hours of screen on time. Charging is good enough for the given 4,100 mAh battery for about 3 hours.
When I had the ZF4 Max in the Zenfone 4 Philippine launch for my first camera samples, honestly I was not impressed for that given price tag but looks like it paid for the months that we waited just to get in our first ZF4 review unit. Trust me, the pictures here were a lot better compared to what we got last August as both auto modes for main and selfie cameras were more than enough for social media. The glitch that I encountered was on the pro mode. There were some instances when I dial the

On the extras section: Since the Zenfone implemented fingerprint sensor in some of their phones, I had no problems on those accidental unlocking of their devices when you put in your pocket but sadly this one, it had that glitch. Of course, the double tap to wake's disabled
Asus Zenfone 4 Max is priced at Php 8,995 (there's one here thru Lazada PH) but it's SRP still not changed at Php 9,995 which I am waiting for a price slash by them after it's introduced by 6 months. So far by it's SoC, it can only be compared to 2 other local brands which is at Php 2,000-Php 4,000 lower but up to 37% less on battery. If only for decent camera, very good HD display and battery life - Asus Zenfone 4 Max is quite good already. Just they need to chec that flaw that we saw from the fingerprint sensor and some confusion on the OTG support usage which I am hoping for a fix in their upcoming Zen UI 4.0 OTA update. It's 3.75 out of 5 for Asus Zenfone 4 Max
