It was 2014 when I attended this annual event by one of the known global brands in terms of printing and cameras and last weekend, they were back and bigger than their previous offering
Canon Photomarathon 2017 was set at the Hall 4 of SMX Convention Center in Pasay City. Compared to 2014, they were a lot more newbies were came in tp join. Because it was in an indoor venue, it was fun to check a number of activities and booths on site including discounts from Canon-related products and also their partner establishments including micro SDs, showcase of their current mirrorless, DSLRs and wide array of printer options as well as free picture with Pikachu stuff toy as the said brand is currently having a promotion with one of the world-known games
For the photomarathon, they have two themes alloted for the participants plus this time, they have a lot of places to choose from (based on their permit) from Paranaque, Taguig and Pasay City. There were also a number of free photography workshops throughtout the day from Tippy Go, Jijo de Guzman, Ernie Sarmiento, Per Andre Hoffman and Wesley Villarica. Their 2017 line-up of Canon Crusader of Light ambassadors were also there and the opening remarks was led by Canon President and CEO Kazuhiro Ozawa
It was also the day that they had formal introductions for three new products, the Canon EOS M100 mirrorless camera priced and now available for Php 33,398 and their Canon CP1300 and TS5170 printers.
From the 3rd placer up to the champion, the efforts were enough from the various number of Canon products that they brought home. The champion of Canon Photomarathon 2017, Ruben Ranin was even luckier as aside from Canon products - he will be also the Philippine representative for the upcoming Canon Photomarathon Asian edition that will happen soon in Japan
