Department of Education (DepEd) revealed that there are more than 6,000 locations without power and electricity and 25.4 million learners, there is a need for quality education for each of them.
Thru the efforts of Microsoft Philippines, they had a debut on EGG Command Center and Disaster Command Center which Cabanatuan City was the first ones to receive it. The formal turn-over happened just yesterday at their Old Capitol area.
The EGG Classroom has 17 workstations (1 main computer + 16 10.1 inch 2-in-1 Windows 10 computers with Intel Atom X5-based processor, solar panels that can store solar energy out on 12 truck batteries), air-conditioned and has a floor area as same as on a typical container van. The place has DepEd-based materials
Same goes with the size of their Disaster Command Center but it has a different set-up with 3 computers which 1 of those has independent monitoring for up-to-the-minute weather situations, two hospital beds for emergency situations, can collect 100 liters of water per day thru collecting the humidity plus the command center can raise up to around 1.7 meters for worst flood situations. This one also has solar panels as roofs and also has the same number of batteries that can last up to 3 days under normal operations plus their 8 of the residents can charge simultaneously their mobile devices
So far, there are two EGG Classroom in the said city while the Disaster Command Center is a first which will be transferred in times in need within the province of Nueva Ecija
