This is Samsung Mobile Philippines' biggest bet so far in the midrange smartphone race this year in the country mainly for their #CaptureTheNight tagline and both cameras with f/1.7 aperture for brighter pics. Does it also will capture your hearts, minds and needs from your hard-earned Php 15,990?
On physical looks, that unique antenna linings is something new to my eyes from the number of straight and curved lines that we already saw from competitors. I can't help but to think that the antenna lines remind me of a clipboard but it was not bad at all. As I was lucky to borrow the one with black variant, it gives more industrial look to me. That 5.5 inch Full HD Super AMOLED display was also very good that you may not realize that it is only a midrange phone.
On UI, you may already read my Samsung Galaxy S8 review. It is the same thing that you will be expecting on the Galaxy J7 Pro from it's Samsung Experience 8.1 UI. It is ligther. Yeah, me and some might think that the quite old-school Exynos 7870 octa-core processor but the quite good power inside and power efficiency really is present in this one but it is not perfect in some of the apps which I will tell you more later
On connectivity department, I had no problems on calls, texts, mobile data, Bluetooth and WiFi. Good thing, they also put in the OTG support too.
Sound output especially on the Galaxy J7 Pro might be the uncommon fave of mine on this Android phablet especially on the 3.5 mm. audio jack
On battery with our usual video battery rundown test with the combination of 14 nm-based processor and 3,600 mAh battery, I was not surprised at all that it achieved 18 hours and 40 minutes. On my review period in my mixed usage, I am usually hitting the 36 hour battery life with mixed usage and 6 hours of battery life.

With it's main headliner on having f/1.7 aperture on both cameras, Galaxy J7 Pro is bringing it's aces on the night but unfortunately only on auto mode as the brand still did not bring in an extensive pro mode here. The front flash is becoming a norm with a slew of selfie-centric smartphones but sorry Samsung as it's flash itself is not really friendly on my eyes. Too far from the likes of Vivo's softlight flash.

For the extras, I hope that it is only for the review unit that I got but I had 3 not-that-good experiences on the Galaxy J7 Pro. For the given processor, for sure that it was a no-brainer that it can ran Instagram and Pokemon Go but I did not function that well at all which how I wish pushed it a little more of the device. The review unit that I got - no chance for me to apply that system update for some reason.
Power-efficient processor, good cameras on auto mode, good audio output and putting a diffrent language on it's physical looks are definitely the pros for me on the Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro but the brand must also look at that front flash that gave me some teary eyes everytime after a selfie and some app compatibility issues. The Php 15,990 is not bad at all versus those two of the other latest selfie-centric phablets that released in the past few months. I will give 4 out of 5 for the Samsung Galaxy J7 Pro
