Earlier, OPPO Philippines introduced us and select media for their newest phone with their claim to fame as "speedy operation".
Here is the new OPPO A71. I already put in the specs on our previous post thru our link here. On the additional info, I am happy that it is already indicated in the box that this device has band 28 aka 700 MHz LTE support. For the official battery capacity listing, it has 3,000 mAh battery and it weighs at 137 grams. Here are the front and back views
The front view of the phone has pre-applied screen guard. On the feel of it's back portion, it is definitely has plastic yet presentable material plus noise cancelling mic and of course, the OPPO branding.
The top has 3.5 mm. audio jack while at the left portion, you will gonna the volume buttons
The right portion has power/unlock button and a dual nano SIM and micro SD slot under one tray
The bottom has quite looking double speakers (I will verify it once we got a chance for a review unit) and (as expected) OTG-capable micro USB cable
The phone has 5V 1A charger, earphones, micro USB to USB cable, user manual and protective case
It is OPPO Philippines' first smartphone with Color OS 3.1 based on Android 7.1 Nougat. As you may already saw in OPPO R11 hands-on videos, the notification center and control center (pull the screen upward) are also present on the A71
Split screen is already native in Android 7.1 Nougat so OPPO has also implemented here. Just press and hold the multitask button and choose the desired app that you want (as long as it supports the said feature)
OPPO Philippines claimed that it has faster UI than the previous ColorOS version. I never felt it just yet on my simple hands-on but the remaining RAM when you already switched off those has more as I am getting around 1.8 out of 3 GB RAM remaining usually. On the audio side, OPPO A71 has added a new feature named Headphones Monitoring which creates a live karaoke-like effect. Obviously, the feature did not work if you used an earphone
On benchmarks, OPPO A71 has gave us around 43,000 on Antutu and 5 available sensors including acccelerometer, light, gravity and proximity.
The camera UI was also a bit familiar on OPPO R11 with one button for 1x and 2x zoom. You will not be left out my the number of available camera modes and filters including the pro mode like what you might already saw on the OPPO F3 series.
The aperture were as accurate as what it was previously reported at f/2.2 aperture at the rear and f/2.4 on selfies. Imaging processing time was quite good.
OPPO A71 will be available for Php 8,990 starting tomorrow September 8, 2017 simultaneously in OPPO physical stores, accredited dealers and also thru their official online stores thru Shopee PH and Lazada Philippines
