Like in number of Samsung high-end device launch events that I had, it is only a sleep away from the global launch and Philippines just had an official warm welcome to the the newest Galaxy
Samsung Galaxy Note 8. As there are two variants of it depending on the processor and another three for it's storage options, Samsung Mobile Philippines officials made it clear at the launch that for the PH market, it will be the one with Exynos 8895 10 nm octa-core processor and with 64 GB internal storage
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be on pre-oorder this September 8 to 17, 2017 in all Samsung Experience Stores, Glone, Smart, Abenson, Lazada Philippines and Argomall and you will receive a free AKG speaker. The available variants are maple gold and midnight black. Galaxy Note 8 users will be delighted for the free 6 month screen warranty which is already inclusive of parts and labor plus a 24/7 dedicated VIP hotline and free pick up and delivery
Like on S8 and S8+ users, Note 8 owners will gonna get exclusive priviledges from Grab rides every Monday, Pacific Club, CBTL and others . It will also be thru credit cards at 0% on 36 months (Citibank) and 0% 24 months (Citibank and BDO) and thru Home Credit at 0% for 12 months
And now for our first look (more on the specs on it's previous article)
I chose the maple gold so that you can see more of the input options. The front has the 6.3 inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED infinity display and 8 MP front cam with f/1.7 aperture and iris scanner
The back part has non-removable maple gold color covered in glass plus the dual main camera plus dual OIS which is a first compared with the same rear camera set-up. The Galaxy Note 8 branding too.
The top has hybrid dual nano SIM tray (SIM 2 can be used as micro SD up to 256 GB) while at the left, the volume rocker and Bixby button is reportedly now available in the country for usage
The right section has power/unlock button and bottom, USB Type C, single speaker and yes! 3.5 mm. audio jack too
The UI and the experience that you may already experience on the S8 can also be found on the Note 8 so I concentrated on the exclusives. First is their "live notes" feature which you can write a message with those sparkling or neon-like effects but I found that you can put in a long sentence due to limited amount of characters
The moment of truth for the camera UI and I am happy that finally for Samsung, a more extensive Pro mode which I you will be missing on the S8 with ISO of up to 800, shutter speeds ranging from 1/4000 to 10 seconds, manual focus, white balance and EV
On the benchmarks aside from the already given processor, I found out that all of the three cameras feature Samsung ISOCELL-based sensor based on the product code prefix. The picture will tell more on the available sensors based on AIDA 64 app
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 key camera features include of up to 2x optical zoom, up to 10x digital zoom and live focus effects (which is like the bokeh effect from other solutions) . For the Note 8, they have a meter line to give the blur effect that you want to achieve. Superb so far on the five camera samples that I had in the mixed lighing conditions inside the launch venue at the Samsung Hall
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 SRP for the Philippines is at Php 49,990
