HMD Global just had their media launch earlier for the 4 new Nokia phones in the Philippines. As I already had my first dibs on the Nokia 6, I went to their other phone with the same SoC in a more affordable price tag.
Here is the Nokia 5 in front and back views. The front has 2.5D Glass which adds more ease in gripping it. The back has matte finish and the body still looks tough as we are expecting to the brand. The phablet does not feel cheap at all.
The left part has 2 trays, 1 for dual nano SIM and another one for micro SD slot (cool!). The right section has power/unlock button and volume rocker with those rounded sidings.
The usual placings for the top which is 3.5 mm. audio jack and OTG capable micro USB port at the bottom
The pulldown menu is the same thing that we saw from the Nokia 6 (but the Nokia 6 and this one has Google Play Store which now - no hassle to go download those apps). Out of 16 GB internal memory, it is a bit big for me that it already occupied 7.58 GB.
It has 7 working sensors including gyro, 10 point multi touch and over 43,000 on Antutu
On camera, there's a story to tell about it. It has simplified UI on it. You can put in watermark in it but I noticed that when I transferred it and checked it, the EXIF data will be shortened so I published the ones in auto mode. A bit hassle that you have to go settings just to activate manual mode. Both published camera MPs are at 4;3 aspect ratio and f/2.0 aperture which gives me fast and clear pics even on this low light scenario at the event's venue at Aracama

In addition, I also noticed that there is no file manager inside so if you are buying it for the first time, first to download a good file explorer on Google Play. For Php 9,990, Nokia 5 might be a heavy contender against those international counterparts with it's already proven processor and the build quality that we are already knew from the brand since the late 90s
