It was already out in stores but I grabbed a chance to check in one of Kata's latest smartphone releases in a usual scenario in between one of the previous media events that I attended.
Here is the Kata M3s in the front and back views. The phone has metal-like rounded sides and they stick in to that plastic-like back cover but with an elegant finish. The display is a-ok to my liking. The fingerprint reader is also present at the back.
Just look at the right hand side to access the volume buttons and power/unlock button.
The top has 3.5 mm., audio jack and micro USB and pin hole microphone at the bottom. By the way, if you missed the specs, you can check my previous article here.
Yup, it is running on Android 7.0 Nougat but the camera UI is definitely old school as we already saw this from the Android Kitkat days. The image processing speed on both the rear and front cameras will take you over a second to finish.
Due to some circumstances, I was not able to retrieve the camera samples but definitely I found out something on the EXIF data. The rear cam has f/2.4 and the f/2.8 aperture. I was able to shoot some in the low light scnerario in one of Solaire's conference rooms and definitely not worth it for the Php 7,390 asking price as you can see more phones with better aperture and image quality for even less of it.
Thanks to Sir Bob Reyes of Mozilla Philippines as he allowed to check his Kata M3s review unit
