From US to Taiwan and now ASUS Philippines just brought in the Asus Zenfone AR in the country. Of course, my routine on not to miss on Zenfone's first AR and Tango-capable smartphone.
The front and the back views of the phablet. Unfortunately with that security attachment, I was not able to disable the protective case but still the side curves and the weight was pretty respectable and more compact compared to that other AR-capable phone with over 6 inches.
The left side has SIM card and micro SD tray and volume rocker and power/unlock button at the right part.
That a bit huge noise cancelling mic at the top and 3.5 mm. audio jack, USB Type C and speaker at the bottom
It was a fresh take on their ZenUI based on Android 7.0 Nougat from the pulldown menu to the animations and a lil tweak on the settings page. Yup, the Snapdragon 821 processor really flies on every move or multitasking that I threw it. It was advertised at 8 GB RAM but I noticed on the RAM usage that it only has 5.7 GB RAM enabled. I guess that the remains are allocated for the system to run properly.
Quite normal for the SD 821 inside based on the Antutu score. It has 10 point multi touch and has 7 of 9 sensors
We are already got amazed on the Zenfone 3 Zoom's camera UI especially on pro mode but looks like the Zenfone AR is in contention too with full manual settings and 20 camera modes in total. The 23 MP main camera set at 4:3 aspect ratio.

On the AR side, I had a chance to work that engine on with the AR model of one of Megaworld's properties which can do on almost any control that you want to from zooming, tilting and so on. Asus Zenfone AR will be available this July 2017 for Php 44,995 and it bundled with ZenPower Ultra powerbank
Update: The Antutu that I posted was based on their 6 GB RAM/64 GB ROM configuration but thanks to one of their Asus officials, the one that they are selling is 8 GB ROM/128 GB RAM model
