After their newest flagship phablet, I stumbled upon on their interesting midranger from Sony Philippines camp which was also there for some demo. Here is the Sony Xperia XA1
I am excited to review this one soon mainly coz of the 16 nm architecture (which I am expecting more power efficient) of Mediatek Helio P20. For the rest of the specs of Sony Xperia XA1, you can go at my previous post here
These are the front and back views of Xperia XA1. Although there is my fave black color also on display, I chose this bronze gold variant so that you can really see that almost no side bezels (which even the XZ Premium might be ashamed of) but noticeable to me are those big top and bottom bezels. Definitely, the phone is lightweight for it's 5 inch display and kinda reminds me of a big chocolate bar.
The left and right sides of Xperia XA1. Another advantage of XA1 over the XZ Premium is the true dual (nano) SIM plus the dedicated micro SD card. Once you remove the tray at the left, it will also auto-reset. The right has the volume rocker and signature Sony circular power/unlock button.
The usual placings, 3.5 mm. audio jack at the top and USB Type C and single speaker at the bottom. Due to limited time, I was not able to check if it has USB OTG support
Out of 32 GB internal memory, it will give you over 21 GB of possible app storage. The camera UI of XA1 was the same as the one that I checked in XZ Premium
Both camera shooters of Xperia XA1 have f/2.0 aperture. I think the 23 MP main camera of it can give more of it with this piece of top area of Blackbird, the venue for the said media launch. The secondary camera for me was one of the best 8 MP shooters that I have seen so far. There's a bit of delay when I had a selfie just to ensure that I will have a perfect shot for you to show.

The Php 14,990 asking price of Sony Xperia XA1 might be another good choice in the said price range but the processor is still a question for me but for sure I will uncover it once I have a chance to review it.
