Vivo V5 Plus Review

From V5 to V5 Lite and now, were down to Vivo's high-end phablet so far since their existence in the country and also their first attempt with a dual front camera system. Is the Vivo V5 Plus just right for it's price?

This time, I chose to put not that much on screenshots as it was really has the same characteristics as to the previous Vivo phone that I reviewed which is Vivo V5 Lite

On connectivity, I had no issues on calls, texts, mobile data, WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS on this phablet. No surprises at all as it has a Qualcomm chip inside.

On overall usage thanks to it's 14 nm architecture, I almost did not have any heat issues on mixed usage. There's only a minimum in some gaming which I will tell you more later.

On battery, the video rundown test gave us at 16 hours and 40 minutes. On my real life usage, this one can last me for an average of 30 hours on 6 hours of screen on time. No clear info if this has Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 but the supplied charger has 9V 2A output so the phablet was fully charged for me at over an hour and a half

On camera, the main shooter delivered above average with their Sony based sensor. I really had fun that I brought this phablet in many of my previous media coverages. The colors were accurate. The pro mode is definitely giving us the right output in my preferred dial. The selfie shooters were usually one of the best that I seen so far even without the beauty mode on.

Vivo V5 Plus 13 MP rear camera sample

Vivo V5 Plus 20 MP front camera sample (normal mode)

Vivo V5 Plus 20 MP front camera sample (bokeh mode set at f/2.8)

Vivo V5 Plus is currently priced at Php 19,990 which is a-ok for me (especially if I compare this one with another global smartphone with the same processor, display size and resolution and less MP yet a-ok selfies too for Php 1,000 less) . My number one con for me is the lack of micro SD slot (even though that it already has 64 GB of internal storage). Build quality, very good output of cameras, fast charging and the Funtouch OS which I am starting to like. Vivo V5 Plus for me at 4.25 out of 5.
