No new smartphone appeared in OPPO's latest stint at MWC 2017 but we knew from their innovations like the VOOC charging feature, they will gonna do something on one of the most important aspects of an Android handset, the camera.
In their showcase, they named it as OPPO Periscope-style dual camera technology which a world's first. Their aim was to have maximum zoom capability in the slimmest look possible and having the best image stabilization.
From their slides, they will gonna go on the dual-camera path but it will be a different approach. While the competitor has wide-angle lens and OIS but do not have it on the telephoto lens which gives some blurry pics on zoom, OPPO will put in the OIS instead in the other way around.
Another wow factor for me is the the second main camera will be in an angular form which results to only 5.7 mm. thickness which is 10% less than the thickness of the 2x zoom. The result, they will gonna have 3x optical zoom plus their own fusion technology which gives a 5x loseless zoom
They even had some demo video from our screenshots
After the presentation, foreign media had a glimpse of that OPPO prototype phone with that said technology.
Is this will be the form factor of the next OPPO smartphone?
