I never got a chance to do a food review for months and it was a good try when I saw McDonald's Philippines' FB page of the availability of their McDo Mushroom Pepper Steak (started last December 28 2016). After my Pokemon Go hunt in the late afternoon, an opportunity came in for me to try this one for my early dinner.
First of all, I am curious on the look of the box as it was not available at the online ad. Not sure if this is the official food box of McDonalds Mushroom Pepper Steak (or it can be also used for their future food offerings, who knows?)
So here is what you must see. The presentation reminds me of their Chicken Italiana meal with some separation on the viand and the rice. For the prices, McDo Mushroom Pepper Steak (MMPS) ala carte is at Php 49. Make it Php 55 to have a drink. Php 69 is for the one-piece MMPS with rice and upgrade to McFreeze. Php 89 for two-piece MMPS with drink and Php 99 for two-piece MMPS and McFreeze
I am not really a fan of the burger itself of McDo but the whole mushroom pepper cream made the difference. It was not spicy but it was right for me as the pepper must be there only to remove the umay factor of the cream. The amount of mushroom is a-ok that I have to consider the Php 55 that I paid for this.
I am not sure if I am lucky at that time that my rice is quite a little more than the competition. If there is one bad thing for me which is the same case to their ala- Chicken Ala King meal - a little bit more cream please.
As of this writing, it's competitior just launched the direct answer to this McDo so that is the right thing to match up versus their regular burger steak. The Php 55 McDo Mushroom Pepper Steak is a great deal for me minus a bit less on the cream side and the amount of rice too so I will gonna rate it at 4.5 out of 5.
I ate this last December 30, 2016 at past 6 pm at McDo Filinvest City Alabang branch
