It is a reality for me that it was a pain for my prepaid load to call from my mobile phone to landline or even calling to a competing mobile telco. Earlier, Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), PLDT and Globe just made a day for me and for those has the same scenario.
In the recent Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) starting January 1, 2017, they all agreed to reduce the interconnection rates by as much as 40%
In a statement, PLDT Director and Head of Regulatory Affairs and Policy Office Mr. Ray C. Espinosa said "“We are supporting government’s efforts to bring down the cost of telecom services in the country. This agreement will translate in different ways to more affordable voice call rates for our subscribers”
The interconnection rate for voice calls between the mentioned telcos will be slashed by Php 2.50 per minute across the board
