Lenovo Phab2 First Look, Benchmarks, Camera Samples

I just came out from the launch of the new Lenovo Phab2 series and I will start with the most affordable in the line-up.

Meet the Lenovo Phab2

Front: 6.4 inch IPS Full HD display, 5 MP front camera
Back: 13 MP PDAF main camera with LED flash and f/2.0 aperture, Lenovo logo, non-removable back cover
Internals: 1.3 GHz Mediatek MT8735 Cortex A53 quad-core processor with Mali-T720 MP2 GPU, 3 GB RAM, 32 GB ROM, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, 4,050 mAh built-in battery

This one is the most affordable in the group but the metal look really impressed during my initial-hands-on. The only challenge for me is the handling on one hand for obvious reasons

On the top, you can see the 3.5 mm. audio jack and noise cancelling mic and at the bottom and dual speaker (only speaker in real life + pin hole microphone) and micro USB

The left part has hybrid dual SIM tray (SIM 1 as micro, SIM 2 can be used as a micro SD slot). You guessed it right as you can check the power/unlock button and volume rocker at the opposite side

The phablet has an app drawer which looks customized Android 6.0 Marshmallow (not sure if this is still a part of Lenovo Vibe UI) and a brand new pulldown menu which is can be edited via the system UI tuner

The multi-tasking cards that we love on the said OS has here. The phone just gave us a good less than 25 GB of app storage out of it's 32 GB ROM.

Glimpse of phone and messaging apps.

I am curious on the coutry's first smartphone/phablet with Mediatek MT8735 64-bit quad-core processor so I gave some time to put some Antutu check at 31,868 which is comparable to their own MT6735 quad-core SoC. The device has 7 working sensors including gyro and has 10 point multi touch.

Here are the camera samples below. The main camera features an f/2,0 aperture while at the selfie camera, it has a respectable f/2.2 aperture and has very good output for a 5 MP shooter. Both ccaptured in 4:3 aspect ratio

Lenovo Phab 2 is officially available in the country for Php 9,999
