Cloudfone Next first impressions, camera samples, benchmarks

Finally, this blog had a chance to check out the Philippines' first local released smartphone powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 - Cloudfone Next

Front: 5.2 inch IPS FHD display with 2.5D Glass, 8 MP front camera with flash, fingerprint reader and home button combined
Back: 16 MP rear camera with flash, removable back cover, Cloudfone logo
Internals: Dual micro SIM, micro SD slot, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, 1.4 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core processor, 4 GB RAM, 32 GB ROM, 3,000 mAh battery.

The top has 3.5 mm. audio jack while at the bottom, you can check the single speaker, OTG capable micro USB port and pin hole mic.

The right side, you can check the power/unlock button and volume rocker.

We got a chance to remove the back cover and it revealed the structure of micro SIM slot and micro SD slots. Sadly, you have to reset the phone if you put the SIM card.

I love that this phone has LTE only. The camera gestures are different on this one compared to previous Cloudfone models. Swipe up (if on landscape mode) to see the camera options. Swipe down to see the camera modes.

On benchmarks, it scored at 44,262. The internal storage was supplied by Hynix. Glad that the phone has 7 out of 9 sensors. The phone has 5 point multi touch.

Here are the camera samples. Both shooters are at 4:3 aspect ratio. The main camera has f/2 aperture while it's f/2.4 aperture.

On the pro side, I like the build, display and you do not need to for a 3rd party file manager for you to access the USB thumbdrive as well as the camera so far in a low light. One bad thing is something the AF is missing on my focus time set-up.

We do not have the official words so far on the release date and the availability on stores but it will be on Lazada Philippines soon.
