Just the second Snapdragon 652-powered processor in the country, I took a chance to weigh in my thoughts on the new Alcatel Idol 4S.
These are the front and back views of the box which is pretty informative.
I will not gonna mention the specs on this blog post as I already made it here if you want to take a look. The phablet is definitely not the smallest 5.5 inch that I handled but the Quad HD display resolution was a standout. I noticed that at the back that it has some resemblance of a Zenfone when you tilt it in. This is near stock Android Marshmallow compared to the currrent competition which is the Vivo V3 Max.
The left and right views of the device. The boom button is a welcome addition as you can do some things like shooting 8 pictures straight from lock screen and as a dedicated nitro button for Asphalt games. One of their staffs clarified that the PH market will have the hybrid dual nano SIM (which means SIM 2 can be used as micro SD slot) If using 2 SIMS, the SIM 1 is only LTE capable.
3.5 mm. audio jack and noise cancelling mic at the top, micro USB port and pin hole mic at the bottom.
I only had limited time to play this device but the device is quite smooth. I will gonna jump in to the camera sample with 16 MP rear camera sample and 8 MP selfies without and with flash in that order.
Unfortunately, Alcatel PH did not reveal the exact pricing of Idol 4S with bundle at under 30K as well if they will gonna sell the phone only. Alcatel Idol 4S will be available in the country this June.
