I had this #RNTDFirst back in 2014 as a sign that is first seen in PH tech sites. 2015 was a huge one for the site as I got these news out of nowhere from various sources from brochures, screenshots, stolen shots and even thru an emcee. I will share my top 5 #RNTDFirst plus some side stories if I gonna remember it. Of course, these were based on the number of views so far.
5. Cherry Omega HD 3
This is just one of the many devices of Cherry Mobile that I leaked last October in their Tis Season To Be Cherry 2015 tarp. From that number of handsets, this is the top of the list. Maybe a little nostalgia for those who captivated by the Omega series. It was officially introduced in Cherry Philippines FB page after 2 months.
I knew that there are still some people who are always looking for entry-level Android phones and Cherry Philippines captured those hearts with those phones above from Php 999 to less than Php 2,000. I got this news even before they repackaged some of the devices as part of Cherry Prepaid phone kits.
When I saw the teaser of it thru the Torque FB page, I had an email exchange with one of their officials to clarify the specs. I appreciated the efforts of that person as you saw the entire specs of these 4 new budget tablets from the brand on this site (as it also became the source of my fellow tech bloggers). I hope other officials from other tech brands will see this side story as an example as it will be also a win for your upcoming devices/products
2. MyPhone MY111
I got this news as I got a stolen shot from a tarp of one of their branches in the south metro. The tarp also included 2 of the hottest midrange phones these days of the brand, the MY35 and MY36. That time, it was not yet available but that's already a sign. I'm happy that there's still a huge crowd for a clamshell feature phone.
Definitely one of the most interesting Instagram feeds that I got this year. It was past 1 am in a day of October 2015 when one of MyPhone officials had this info on IG. I'm surprised in the official for the amount of specs that was posted on the site. I knew aside that there's another market that will be captured aside from it's label as emergency SOS as I shared it to other execs of the local mobile brand and it became a reality. I saw a senior citizen with a lanyard attached to this phone. Most of them that I knew are more into receiving/making calling than texting. With it's 6,000 mAh battery, for sure it will be countless hours worth of talktime with their friends and family. It was officially introduced in MyPhone FB page after 2 months.
3 days before it's media launch, the site never got an invite for the Cherry Mobile Maia Series media launch but a window came wide open when they had the store opening of their MOA Cyberzone branch and the first 20 persons to buy any of those 2 Maia tablets will have a chance to meet-and-greet their newest ambasadress Janella Salvador. Quite unique scenario that I got the specs of Maia Tab and Maia Smart Tab from a number of times thru the emcee of the launch. That was a jackpot for the site as I'm blogging only from a distance. That Saturday afternoon was a blast for local tech as some of the PH tech sites sourced the content from my effort at that time.
