From cars and TVs (as I saw it in a local store), there's a bit of surprise for me that international brand Hyundai has ventured to smartphones. In their event, CellPrime introduced us to Hyundai Aero and here's what I got.
First impressions: The full metal and glass product of Hyundai Aero is really present here. When it was asked by me fellow media, CellPrime officials assure that this phone with 5.1 mm. thickness will not suffer from "bendgate". Coz of that, it is a joy to handle this one - lightweight. I love that it has almost near stock Lollipop and great amount of app storage but no micro SD. One thing of concern for me is a bit high on price tag. There's a less than a second delay in image processing in front cam but the other camera is fine which is to expect on a SD410 SoC.
Hyundai Aero is priced here at Php 13,999
Front: 5 MP front camera with f/2.3 aperture, 4.8 inch HD AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 3 (GG3), LED notification (verified so far on charging mode)
Back: 8 MP rear cam with flash & f/2.0 aperture, Hyundai and Aero logos, single speaker, non-removable back also with GG3
Internals: Android 5.1 Lollipop, Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor, LTE, dual nano SIM, 2 GB RAM, 32 GB ROM, no micro SD slot, 2,000 mAh non-removable battery
Just look at that 5.1 mm. thickness.
Right: Power/unlock button and volume rocker
Top: 3.5 mm. audio jack and micro USB port (one sales person there said that it has OTG support)
Bottom: Pin hole mic
A glimpse of Android 5.1 Lollipop which is for me is near stock Android. Out of 32 GB ROM, you can have over 24 GB of app storage.
And here are the camera samples shot at PBA Cafe in Metrowalk. Both cameras are maxed out at 4:3 aspect ratio.
