And I'm done with my first ever review of a dual-boot tablet (Android & Windows) from Cloudfone which is the Cloudpad Epic 8.9. How's my rating? You can check out my my views below.
First, I'm gonna skip those Windows screenshots as those are the same UI that you'll gonna expect on a Windows 8.1. So on this interface which was on Android 4.4 Kitkat, not 100% stock Android but the UI has almost no lag at all. There's also an app drawer in it.
No surprise that it's 8.9 inch 1920 x 1200 display is sharp and a nice device for movie marathon or for those who want to look some hi-res photos. One bad vibe for me as the device has still some gap between the glass and display so it affected me in some gaming that requires some accuracy in tapping and touching. Unfortunately, the audio jack is not CTIA compliant. Charging is also not that fast for 3,000 mAh battery with 2 amperes of output via micro USB.
The Intel Atom Z3735F quad-core processor is a powerhouse for Android games as I played Moden Combat 5 and Real Racing 3 on this one. On Windows, it is only good enough for productivity, some multi tasking on some easy programs and browsing. During this review, I only used the soft keyboard keys for Windows and it is quite accurate. My trusty BT mouse had no problems in pairing and navigating it on both OS
On benchmarks, it got a 10 point multi touch. Not that much on sensors as it only has proximity and sound sensors. The Antutu scored at over 30,000
Out of 3,000 mAh battery and 1,920 x 1200 display resolution, the device got around 4 hours and 22 in my usual battery video rundown test. One of the factors was the heating issue of this device that it goes up to 45 degrees plus there are some instances that the device will post a notice and will throttle down the processing due to heating. For this test, the tablet was in airplane mode and only used HD videos.

Extras: For switching OS, you have to long press the volume down and power button so that it will gonna show a menu if you want to use Windows or Android (with their respective logos). I also noticed that you have 15% (or lower) in your battery life, it will have some difficulty in dual-boot feature as it will be in bootloader mode sometimes. The micro HDMI is fine when I connected it in our LED TV in both OS. On both OS, it will give you over 10 GB of app storage (on Android) and on C drive
Pros: Excellent display, almost stock Android UI, nice form factor, a-ok battery life
Cons: Battery capacity, not CTIA compliant audio jack, there's gap between the glass and display.
Since it's launch, the price of Cloudpad Epic 8.9 is still at Pph 8,999 which I hope that they will gonna bring the price down soon as there are more dual-boot tablets that are quite more affordable and a keyboard is included which is missing on this package. I'll gonna grade 3.5 out of 5 for the Cloudpad Epic 8.9
