Cherry Mobile Flare X 3 GB RAM with 1.3 GHz octa SoC & Lollipop spotted online

When Cherry Mobile's website uploaded the soft copy of their newest brochure, some of us were kinda confused or wondered on the Flare X 3 GB with 1.3 GHz octa-core SoC beside the Flare X 2 GB. Is it typo error or really true.

If you remember this? When it was launched a few months ago, it has Android Kitkat and 1.7 GHz Mediatek MT6752 octa-core processor. This one has Android 5.1 Lollipop and 1.3 GHz octa-core processor

The fact started to be clear last November 11 when known Cherry Mobile dealer Cherry Angel announced that Cherry Mobile Flare X Lollipop version is now available in their shop (see link!)

Thru the help of JCarlos Chua Esguerra of Cherry Mobile Flare X United Facebook group, he posted this picture. A true proof that there's really a new version of Cherry Mobile Flare X 3 GB like what the brochure said, 1.3 GHz octa-core processor and Android 5.1 Lollipop

He even posted some verified Antutu scores of the 1.3 GHz Cherry Mobile Flare X 3 GB and it scored at over 30,000 which is a bit low compared to my first sighting at over 40,000 thru my fellow tech bloggers.

No clear info yet on the exact SoC that the brand used on this one.

Just bought it yesterday. The specs on the shelf still said 1.7 GHz so we bought it without paying attention the box. Turned out to be the new 1.3 GHz version. But that is not the worst part :( 1.3 GHz is more than fast enough for practically anything, and provides good battery life, but the lower GPU is a different story. This version has a Mali T720 where as the original Flare X was advertised to have T760. Coupled with a FHD screen, it's 3D benchmarks are even lower than flare XL...

PS: The version we bought is the 3GB, P6999 version; the same price with the first gen, high powered Flare X. Antutu score is between 30 to 32K as above. Antutu 3D score is below 6000. Epic Citadel gets around 54fps in "High Performance"...
